What Does A System Administration Course Entail?

A system administrator is a person whose responsibility is to configure, upkeep, and ensure computer systems' reliable operations particularly in multi-user computers including servers. The system administrator ensures that the computer security, uptime, resources, and performance that he/she manages meet the users' needs without surpassing the budget. In order for these needs to be met, a system administrator may upgrade, install, or acquire computer software and components; offer routine automation; maintenance of security policies; supervise or train staff, troubleshoot; or offer project technical support.

Many companies staff other jobs which are linked to system administration. In large companies, these could all be different positions within an Information System or computer support. In a group that is smaller, these may be shared amongst a small number of sysadmins, or by just one person.
